    Being the leader of the ops team, Shade remains cool, composed, and focused.  Unfortunately we don't get to know him very well.  He leads three other soldiers down a security hallway, to the computer mainframe in an attempt to disable the Red Queen.  However, the Red Queen locks them in the hallway.  One by one, the soldiers begin getting killed off by lasers.  Unlike the other three unfortunates, Shade manages to avoid the first to laser attacks.  But when they form an inavoidable checkerboard grid, the ops team leader falls to pieces, literally.
